Heroes for Gender Transformative Action at Buhemba in Namayingo for Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

Today, the people of Buhemba Village, Buhemba Sub County, Buhemba Parish, in Namayingo District, are at their peak after the Heroes for Gender Transformative Action have reviewed their Actions of stopping the violence in the community of Namayingo District.

Heroes for Gender Transformative Action is in Uganda and operates in nine regions, but in the Busoga Region they operate in four Districts namely…  lganga is based in Bulamagi Sub County, Bukabooli in Mayuge District,  Wakawaka in Bugiri and Namayingo District.

Majority they deal with in the community are sexual gender based violence to fight teenage marriage and defilement.

According to the pro. Mr Kisame Jamada say that the fonder is called Ruth from Netherlands who is working together with Heroes to encourage the school dropout to go back to school and look for a better future.

Therefore the Chairperson of Buhemba Sub county Mr Maggni lsima say that they are very lucky to receive the visitors from Heroes to come in Namayingo to encourage their children to go back to school for further study and also teaching their wife’s to make liquid soap which can help them to get same money in the community.

Although Mardam Ruth from Netherlands received alot of complaints about the Gender Based Violence in the community but she promised them that they can stop these in the community of Namayingo because it’s affecting the young children.

Also she advised those practising early marriage and defilement in the community that it’s not good to be practised.

Madam Ruth also tasked the local leaders to work together with the team from Heroes such that they can report any case about the act of defilement in the community of wakawaka in Bugiri and in Namayingo because the act is leaving our children dropout of school because of shame about them.

Never same people in Namayingo try to keep same information about the people who practice defilement were tasked to report any case about the matter because it can be one of the measures of fighting Gender Based Violence in the community.
